Kenyan Fried Plantains [Ndizi Kaanga]


  • 4 Tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 2 large ripe plantains, peeled and cut into 1inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • Pinch of nutmeg

How To

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan
  • Add plantains and cook for 3-5mins till brown on both sides
  • Move plantains to a serving platter and drizzle lemon juice, salt, and nutmeg
  • Serve hot

Enjoy as a dessert or side dish for Baked Salmon and Ras el Hanout Chicken.
